This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The bottom has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
I had a sudden realization today. When you start out in caricatures there's certain things that you might be a little uneasy about drawing. Big nose woman, underbite baby, whatever. But then you get to a point were your like, yeah. I gotta draw it. But I just thought about this: What about all the stuff I'm afraid to say? And I don't mean stuff that may be offensive to the customer, and of course you want to try to take risks in that arena, but what about questions like: "Do you guys want a funny one or a serious one?" I'm always wondering this when I start in and I don't find out until the end. AND, it's not really a serious question because I want to draw what I want to draw regardless and have them be surprised, but questions like this I've always avoided. Maybe that's not good. What other things have I not said? I never tell them what I'm drawing. I never say, "okay, i'm drawing your nose. Now I'm drawing your mouth." I never try to find out how they actually feel about caricatures, because I'm always afraid of the truth I think. It's something I've always just not wanted to concern myself with. A friend of mine who does gigs and stuff in San Diego told me that we live caricature artists can say just about anything because people see us as very odd. That really stuck with me and I think about it a lot now. I want to try and really be super open with some customers some time and see what happens.
Name's Aaron Philby. I draw caricatures, and you should too.
